Russian dance and music ensemble Barynya performed two concerts in San Antonio, Texas. First performance was at the private residence, and the second concert was open to public. Both concert were narrated by a Russian-born ethnomusicologist, folk singer, garmoshka player, artistic director and founder of the group Mikhail Smirnov. Dancers Alexey Maltsev, Alexander Rudoy, Sophia Panych, and Anna Zinenko performed Ukrainian dance "Hopak", Russian dances "Barynya", "Kalinka", "Metelitsa" (The Snowstorm), Siberian wrestling dance of Nanai Kids, Gypsy dance "Two Guitars", and Jewish dance "Mazal Tov". Ensemble Barynya was supported by two virtuoso musicians: Vladimir Kalyazin (bayan), and Sergey Vachshenko (balalaika).
